Gateway Advanced Setup - Error 740

The new installation has a black icon (and is titled Gateway Admin), the older a blue one.  Inside the software is the same.  The software's purpose is to set a static ip in the gateway.  Error 740 on the older installation can be manually repaired: 

Windows 8.1
• Find the start menu (metro screen) - usually via the windows key or icon
• Find the down arrow on lower left to enter the apps menu
• Scroll right to the section where named headings are above the icon
• Find the heading Gateway Advanced Setup
• Right click on the blue icon; select Open File Location (sends you to desktop)
• In the file menu, right click on the blue icon again; select Send to Desktop
• Right click on the desktop icon; select Properties
• Choose the Compatibility Tab
• Place a check mark under Compatibility Mode
• Select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) in the drop-down
• Select Apply and OK
• The icon should now open and run.

Windows 7

• Right click on the desktop icon; select Properties
• Choose the Compatibility Tab
• Place a check mark under Compatibility Mode
• Select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) in the drop-down
• Select Apply and OK
• The icon should now open and run.
